When we are involved in activities with LIGHT, it is essential that we keep in mind that we are representing home educators around the nation. Therefore, we feel it is necessary to create a Code of Conduct for ourselves and our children. The following verses have been chosen as a guideline for our behavior.
Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.
Philippians 1:27
This means that in all situations we need to remember that those around us need to see Jesus in our actions and words.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Ephesians 4:29
Many possible problems among us will never occur if we use this rule
when we speak.
If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain
conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
Philippians 2:1-4
Putting others first in all we do will strengthen our relationships and glorify our Lord.
On the registration form you and your children will be asked to sign a statement
that you have read and are willing to abide by the above guidelines. LIGHT
home schoolers are represented each time we are together in public, it is very
important that we hold one another accountable to these standards.
